POETRY BAND — A one-of-a-kind modern theatre band advancing the Christian spiritual. POETRY BAND albums are musical interpretations based on books—the poetry novel trilogy by Wilson Sherman, which includes EXIT, ROOMS, and PSALM. All albums are non-stop musicals, recorded live as improvs in top studios. POETRY BAND spiritual albums combine spoken-word songs and instrumental jams. Wilson is featured on lead vocals, spoken word, and songs, with other band members also contributing vocal performances.

The first POETRY BAND recordings are: Resurrection, the recording, and several years later, Revival. Both were also scripted by Wilson for POETRY BAND live improv recordings.

EXIT is the only book that includes a nonfiction element—a major exposé that revealed a shocking international machination. This made both the book and album a hugely important global human rights and public safety work, later to be addressed successfully by ASF a non profit organization, carsafe.org. EXIT played a part in saving lives globally.

The POETRY BAND album ROOMS a two-hour-plus musical based on the poetry novel ROOMS by Wilson Sherman is an epic work in the vein of Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Handel’s Messiah, and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. While those great classical works feature stunning music and performance, they are not original literary works, as they are based on Bible passages and contain no actual storyline. ROOMS is a unique literary creation—an apocalyptic rock opera version of the novel—advancing the Christian spiritual with original poetry and music. With its amazing storyline, ROOMS encompasses the human experience: from the dawning of light, to the Garden of Eden, the Fall, a sojourn through Hell, and other “rooms,” eventually leading to a surprise grand finale and the end of time. This powerful presentation is slated for a major motion picture, with movie rights now available.

Wilson's poetry novel PSALM shares some elements akin to David performing Psalms with simple string instrument accompaniment:

Wilson heeds the Bible’s call to “praise the Lord” in this joyful Jesus tribute, opus, and psalm. With the sun shining on the pages, it is a sojourn through God's mind, celebrating the wonder of divine imagination. PSALM is book three in Wilson’s poetry novel trilogy collection, which also includes EXIT and ROOMS. Like the other two books, Wilson has recorded PSALM with music by POETRY BAND, now available as an audiobook on Audible. PSALM takes a musical departure from the full-band sound and is performed with just lead vocal and two guitars akin to David performing Psalms with simple stringed instruments.
